And that's a DFI Badge

Exam Week, Week 9

Kia kaha e hoa.

DFI Week 7 and Week 8

 Ata marie,

Kei aku nui, kei aku rahi, kei aku whakateitei ki te whenua, kia ora mai taatou katoa.

Manaiakalani:
Giving the power to the students to have control over their learning was today's focus. Creating teaching content to be rewindable is one way Manaiakalani found really useful in achieving that goal. So for me it was creating content which locks in my learners by keeping them engaged and focussed  and easy to navigate through the lesson. Only way to achieve this was trial and error. Our students  evaluated our learning content and give us teacher feedback so we know how to fix and improve our rewindable learning content.

Cyber Smart:

Having frequent reminders around cyber space is so important to teaching our learners about being aware and using technology in a positive instead of a negative way. Understanding that everything  you do online will always be online.  Teaching our learners to have a smart relationship is always better than a bitter relationship.

Creating Content:

Really enjoyed this session

Week 8

Second favourite week lol enjoyed learning how to code and having a lot of resources to take back to my classroom.

Week 6 DFI

Nau mai ngā hua o Te Tahi o Pipiri, ā, o te tau hōu Māori ki a tātou katoa. Been a busy few days here at school but everything is going well.

Manaiakalani:
The power of Networking within school is a important key to online learning was today's discussion with Whaea Dorothy. Networking is the foundation to the Manaiakalani  Pedagogy Learn, Create and Share.
So I took from Today's lesson was how to implement this type of pedagogy within my class and with my learners on a online platform. At the current moment students a creating their own sites to share a whakaaro of theirs e.g favourite movie, favourite kai, top game, best cartoon. Look forward to their completed sites.

Sites:
Today was all about creating, sharing and gaining feedback from our bubble attaining to our classroom sites.
I found creating buttons was cool but also time consuming so just stuck to the default ones for now and will implement new buttons the more time my learners spend on sites to create new engagement and stimulate learning.
Having Links to safe games was a helpful for sites to create traffic and help improve my learners way of navigating our classroom site.
Having a lot of different pictures to help stimulate and increase engagement also contributed to increasing the learning and support the the idea of creating and sharing.
Checking your Font and pictures for your header was another important key part to designing your Classroom site. Its the first thing anyone see when  they open your classroom site.

Hapara Hot tip:
Really enjoy these sessions, today's tip was all around understanding how our learners use Hapara and how they see it from a learner's perspective.
Ngā Mihi Whaea Dorothy

He kōrero whakamutunga mōku tēnei koe Matua Makaore mō akoranga i te rangi nei. Kei whea mai !
Kia hari, kia koa ngā mahi  i ēnei rangi whakatā.

DFI Week 5

Ngā manaakitanga o te wā,

Manaiakalani:

Today's kaupapa kōrero was around Vision and the difference perspective from Students point, teachers point and whānau point. And understanding and learning that the path may not  always be visible. So allowing time for change is a biggie. I have this problem all the time in class where I assume students and whanau can see my perspective but they can't. So learning to give time to allow for change is a must.

So how does this relate to Online Learning. Well making our learning journey visible. So using slides, forms and sites to get virtual vision across to our learners similar to how Hapara give us teachers visual of our students learning progress. Having alternative visual ways to teach the lesson is also a great attribute.

Really enjoyed Manaiakalani kōrero today.

Sites:

Today Vicky took us over how to create, edit and share the app Site.  Enjoyed  building and creating a site been practising for the last week with creating a classroom site for my class. Can see the benefits on how to share work requiring to be done and another cool tool to displaying students work. Been showed how to share the site without sharing the main editing page was a biggie from todays lesson on building and creating sites.

Creating a Site:

Whaea Amy took us around how to create and develop your classroom site. Here is my address  to my Classroom site lol, need to learn how to embed a link for sites:

Week 4 DFI

Kia ora koutou,

He nui ngā akoranga o tērā wiki.  E whai ake nei ētahi o ngā painga me ētahi wāhi whakapakari.

Google Forms:

Enjoyed learning how to create, share, edit and publish google forms.  Have been using this application for the last week with my class. Found the lock mode on forms helpful with testing coming up in the next few weeks i can see myself using this feature a lot.

Google Maps:

Was already acquainted with this app, would enjoy knowing how after teachers use this app apart from kids sharing where they are from.

Google Sheets:

Dont really enjoy this app lol. We use alternative apps to help analyse and collate data. But think i just need to become more acquainted and use this app more in order to appreciate it.

One of the major things i took away from todays lesson was sharing what you do and how you use the many different apps in your day to day job  to gain different perspective and understanding  on new ways that may benefit your students.

Bring on tomorrow lesson.
